Face painted at the Galway Educate Together NS Annual Winter Fayre. Lots of delicious food, crafts and a great raffle.
I was set up next to a Japanese lady who was selling mini bento boxes. That was the best food!

Drove to Cecil’s Centra, Collooney, Co. Sligo. Santa was making a flying visit and I was face painting there for the afternoon. Great fun and everyone loved the faces.
Petrol is much cheaper in Collooney than Galway!
Started the first Saturday in December facepainting at Galway Seafood Centre for the afternoon. They had a wine tasting and their chef was whiping up some seafood canapes for everyone to try. YUM, YUM
After the pelting rain on the Saturday I was amazed that the sun was shining on the day of the fair. The fair seemed to be twice as big as last year and much better organized.
I was set up in the IT building. Everyone was armed with their maps and with so many cool exhibits to see I didn’t think I’d be face painting that many kids. WRONG! I face painted lots of happy faces and was kept busy for 4 hours without a break. The time just rushed by and I hardly notice it.
Hope I face paint there next year.
Capones, a pizzeria restaurant in Knocknacarra, had it’s first birthday. Face painting in a restaurant just makes me so hungry. The best face of the day for me was a little girl who had just picked up her first pair of glasses. I painted her as a pink, blue and purple tiger to match her glasses. She was so appreciative that she came and thanked me several times. She was so sweet.
IRadio was there to add to the fun and I nearly got roped into taking part in the 1lb burger eating contest. Nearly, not quite. I couldn’t face eating that much red meat in one sitting. I face painted the staff and the kids so great day for everyone.
I started November off painting at Forester Court Dental. They were having a kids open day whereby parents could bring their children in to meet the dentist and they would be shown how to brush their teeth, remind parents about the perils of too much sugar and tips on general good dental hygiene. I was shocked to find that Naturals jelly snakes has 24 spoons of sugar in each bag! I LOVE Naturals jelly snakes. I met a lovely bunch of women and it seemed like a great place to work.
Wow! What a night. Body painted 2 green aliens like a woman possessed. The alien theme night at Central Park Night Club on Thursday was a great success. Two dancers were painted as green aliens and 2 were face painted as avatars as they were wearing costumes. Unfortunately the dancers turned up 1 hour late although through no fault of their own. The traffic made it impossible to arrive on time. I’ve never body painted so fast in my life.
Once everyone was ready I then set up in the club to paint the clubbers with ‘alien skin’.
Great night!
Spent 4 hours face painting at the Galway Bay Half Marathon 2011 on Saturday. Last year I was able to park right next to the race marquee at Nimos Pier. This year I was lucky to get parking by the church. That’s as close I could get.
Inside and out side the marquee was a hive of activity. Runners warming up, physiotherapist setting up and kids coming along to cheer their mums and dads all in aid of a good cause – Cancer Care West.
Painted loads of kids but one of the best was one of the runners who wanted to be painted as a pirate, complete with a stitched up scar!
Well done to everyone who took part. I definitely felt unfit sitting there on my little stool.
Who knows, next year I may be running intead of face painting.
I face painted an endless line of little people on Saturday and Sunday at Smyths Toys, Galway.
It was such a success that I have to order more business cards and the manager was so pleased with my face painting that he said “for sure next year you are on”
My new rainbow face paint turned up in the post just in time and it went down a storm. Rainbows with hearts, rainbows with flowers, rainbows with swirls and curls. Basically, rainbows with everything!
Spiderman was a serious contender for the most requested boy design but the fire breathing dragon won in the end.

Face painted at my first Freshers Ball on Wednesday. The theme was traffic lights. Basically, if you’re available you get painted green and/or wear green. Orange, if you might be tempted. Red, don’t even bother.
There was a live band and a DJ. It was meant to be a UV party as well but someone didn’t put up the lights. The full effect of the UV paints was lost. Everyone seemed to have fun time. My line was certainly heaving. I almost got crushed a few times. Everyone was pretty good natured thought. Would definitely do it again. Shame about the UV lights.
